Bovard Studio recommends our exterior wood frames be made with South American plantation grown mahogany or the heartwood of Eastern White Pine. Both are 100-year exterior quality woods that with proper maintenance can last more than a century.
The client can choose the desired finish. For paint grade finishes, we recommend Sherwin-Williams Duration® Coating which lasts 25 to 30 years on new wood and only requires standard painting processes to refinish when required by time.
Designed to Hold Stained Glass Windows and Insulated Glass. Our aluminum thermal barrier frames with insulated glass and stained glass windows with our patented (U.S. patent #7,607,267) Precision Flow® ventilation system are designed for the conservation of stained glass windows.

This section is an index of a collection of designs which represent a cross section of work taken from Bovard Studio's portfolio. From simple to complex, from abstract to representational, from traditional to modern, and from small intimate stained glass windows to windows as big as the side of a building. The techniques used to fabricate these windows vary from leaded glass to faceted glass. Some have no glass painting, others have every piece of glass in the window painted. Some windows have etching, others have silver staining, plating, traditional glass staining colors, transparent and opaque enamels, stenciling, silk screening and/or medallions. Most windows have a combination of several of these treatments
